On my reading docket is Thomas Friedman’s The World is Flat.
I’ve been reading John Cassidy’s How Markets Fail, in what I thought would be an easily consumable popular economics book similar to the explanations laid out in Freakonomics. Instead, I’ve found that it outlines the history of economic scholarship and utilises it to provide the backdrop for a more in depth look at economic bubbles. I recommend this book to anyone interested in gaining a solid background in economics without reading a heavy textbook.

South Korea gets tablets instead of textbooks. This will be great considering on top of being the most ‘wired’ nation, they are also some of the most studious. The tablets will reduce the weight of books they have to carry and will also teach the students responsibility for keeping tablets in working order. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes out of it! :)
